Taking snapshots of speakers and the venue itself was a favorite passtime. Most of the speakers were also happy to sign books and talk with attendees between sessions.
Pre-release galleys of the upcoming book "SOA Design Patterns" were handed out after the book launch ceremony hosted by Joe McKendrick. To receive a copy, attendees had to answer a skill-testing question.

During every conference day there were contests. Over 400 books, 400 posters, and two Wii systems were given away.

Workshop participants were offered complimentary IAmsterdam passes, allowing them to explore some of the unique architecture and sights in The Netherlands.
