Welcome to the largest SOA event of the year! The First Annual International SOA Symposium is a
conference dedicated to SOA practitioners, consisting of the top SOA experts and authors from
around the world, providing a series of talks, demonstrations, panels, and SOA training and
certification workshops.
The theme of the SOA Symposium is "substance only." A nine-person conference planning committee comprised of established SOA professionals from both the media and the practitioner community is committed to ensuring that each session provides in-depth coverage and true educational value for the most important SOA-related topics for SOA practitioners.
The conference sessions will be organized into the following tracks:
For complete descriptions of these tracks visit the Conference Tracks page. This event will be headlined with an opening keynote by Thomas Erl, the world's top-selling SOA author and editor of the Prentice Hall Service-Oriented Computing Series (www.soabooks.com).
Many of the speakers are published SOA authors. In fact, among the speakers there are 22 SOA books
that have been published or are in development. A variety of contests will be held throughout the
conference, during which over 100 books will be given away to attendees.
The SOA Symposium is also proud to be the official event to launch the release of several new books,
including 'SOA Design Patterns' and 'Web Service Contract Design & Versioning for SOA'. Many of the
authors of these and other books will be speaking at this event and will be further present for book
signings and to participate in the contests.
For more information regarding the book launches and other book-related events, visit the Books page.
The first two conference days are followed by three five-day workshops that are part of the SOA

any of the following certifications by attending these credit courses and taking advantage of on-site testing:
