Track 1 - SOA Architecture & Design

This track is focused on the physical design of services and service-oriented solutions with an emphasis on exploring service-oriented technology architecture as a distinct form of distributed architecture. Also provided are sessions that address related considerations pertaining to the architectural impact of infrastructure, the creation of design specifications, the utilization of related technologies and practices, as well as technology and architectural issues pertaining to security.

Track 2 - SOA Governance

This track covers the individual governance and management of services, as well as independent collections of services (or inventories), service portfolios, and the governance and long-term evolution of service-oriented ecosystems in general. Speakers will highlight SOA governance topics that include both organizational and technology-related governance issues.

Track 3 - Business of SOA

Business strategy, funding models, business cases, and general issues related to adopting and expanding SOA and realizing service-orientation in today's economical climate are discussed in this track. The sessions are primarily geared toward CxOs, business managers, IT stakeholders, and anyone interested in how to justify investing in service-orientation, determine the right scope of SOA adoptions, measure the business value of services, and manage a service portfolio as you would a financial portfolio.

Track 4 - BPM, BPMN & Service-Orientation

This track includes a range of sessions, some of which will cover topics specific to BPM and BPMN individually and others that look to establish links between leveraging BPM and BPMN in support of applying contemporary service-orientation processes and methodologies.

Track 5 - Modeling from Services to the Enterprise

Business strategy, funding models, business cases, and general issues related to adopting and expanding SOA and realizing service-orientation in today's economical climate are discussed in this track. The sessions are primarily geared toward CxOs, business managers, IT stakeholders, and anyone interested in how to justify investing in service-orientation, determine the right scope of SOA adoptions, measure the business value of services, and manage a service portfolio as you would a financial portfolio.

Track 6 - Real World SOA Case Studies

Real-life accounts of successful and failed SOA projects discussed first-hand by those that experienced the project lifecycles and have a story to tell. These veteran practitioners will provide advice and insights regarding challenges, pitfalls, proven practices, and general project information that demonstrates the intricacies of implementing and governing service-oriented solutions in the real world.

Track 7 - SOA & Cloud Security

This track contains sessions dedicated to identifying common security threats and vulnerabilities pertaining to both on-premise SOA environments, as well as services-based solutions and platforms that incorporate cloud environments. Also covered are industry security practices, mechanisms and technologies.

Track 8 - Real World Cloud Computing Case Studies

Cloud computing technologies and platforms are reaching an adoption point that reports are emerging from organizations that have been early adopters. This track is dedicated to case studies from companies that have worked with and implemented IT resources using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models. Both successful and failed projects are candidly discussed.

Track 9 - Cloud Computing Architecture, Standards & Technologies

Adopting cloud computing technologies and platforms can profoundly alter the complexion of an organizations technology architecture environments. These sessions explore both hybrid and cloud-based technology architectures, along with emerging industry standards and technologies.

Track 10 - REST and Service-Orientation in Practice

REST services and related technologies and practices are explored within the context of service-orientation and common SOA design practices. This track will feature practitioners and researchers who will discuss the REST platform and related patterns and approaches can be leveraged in support of realizing the goals of service-orientation.

Track 11 - SOA Patterns & Practices

Established SOA practices, techniques, processes, and design patterns have led to the maturation of service-orientation as a distinct design paradigm. This track explores various new and established design patterns and principles and further explores aspects of service engineering.

Track 12 - Semantic Web

The emerging field of semantic Web technologies and semantic service design are explored in this track, which will cover topics such as vocabularies and ontologies, semantic platforms for business intelligence, and how semantic Web innovations relate to service-orientation.

Track 13 - SOA & BPM

SOA and service modeling in relation to BPM is the focal point of these sessions, as part of an exploration of SOA and business process modeling approaches. Topics include the analysis and separation of business rules.

Track 14 - SOA & Cloud: Infrastructure & Architecture

This broad track covers a range of technology-centric topics related to establishing scalable and reliable infrastructures and technology architectures for on-premise and cloud-based environments. The focus of these sessions is more on technology advances than on practices and techniques

Track 15 - Business of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing advances can provide strategic advantages for businesses by enabling the flexible scaling of infrastructure into clouds. This session focuses on the realistic benefits that can be gained, together with common risks and pitfalls associated with both private and public clouds. Topics will include funding models, business cases, and strategies for partial and complete cloud scaling. The sessions are primarily geared toward CxOs, business managers, and IT stakeholders.

Track 16 - Cloud Computing Governance, Policies & Security

Owning and evolving cloud-based services and environments introduces a series of new governance challenges addressed by the sessions in this track, along with topics that cover security considerations and the creation and maintenance of cloud-based service policies.

Working Group: "SOA Patterns Committee"

Members of the SOA design patterns committee will be meeting to review candidate patterns submitted to the master SOA design patterns catalog. The candidate patterns will be assessed individually to determine whether they are ready to be promoted to the master catalog. Any promoted patterns will subsequently be moved from the candidate patterns section at www.SOAPatterns.org to the master pattern catalog.
